Why: Big seeds, simple care, quick wins = visible progress and delight.

STEM focus: noticing, naming parts, simple counting, “what happens if…”.

SEL focus: gentle care, turn-taking, tidy-up routines.

Tips: shallow sowing, mist only; no heat mats unless room is <18 °C.

"Seedling Scouts' (ages 6-8): Why I recommend this?

Best newts: Edible, Pretty, Medicinal (starter set).

Why: Mix of easy germinators + exciting variety; early data charts.

STEM focus: measure, compare, simple data tables, light/water tests.
