Care & Setup

Soul Projects...Education with Heart & Soil

Here you’ll find the gentle rhythms that help every Newt—and every class—settle in: unpacking, placement, watering, safety, and simple routines that feel doable from day one.

Unpack & Name Ritual
  • Open together...

and lay items out, handle gently.
Invite: “What might this be for?”

  • Label the pot...

and popsicle stick: My Newt: ____

  • Pick a shelf...

or windowsill where light is bright but soft.

Where should newts live?

  • LIGHT:

Bright, indirect. If shadows are sharp, pull back a little.

    SPACE:
A hand’s width between pots = good airflow.

    DRAFTS
Avoid air-con blasts and heater vents.

Watering Rhythm

  • FINGER TEST:

Is the top 2 cm dry?... Water.
    Still moist?... Wait.

    WATER:

Water slowly around the edge of the pot until a little drains through.

    DRAIN:
    Empty saucers after 10 minutes.
